What the connection does
UserGist can be connected to an assistant through its hosted MCP endpoint. The work happens in the assistant’s conversation or terminal: you can ask it to read feedback, investigate a customer’s activity, organize work, or prepare content. The available actions depend on the connection’s access.
Connect your account
Open your workspace’s AI connections page and copy the hosted MCP URL. The UserGist hosted endpoint is https://api.usergist.com/mcp.
Add the remote connection in your assistant using its supported MCP setup. Follow the linked developer guide for the exact client instructions.
Complete UserGist sign-in, choose the workspace and apps, and review the requested capabilities.
Choose an execution mode that fits the work, then return to the assistant and enable the connection.
Verify it with a read-only request
Ask: “Check my UserGist connection and list the apps you can access. Tell me the workspace, permissions, and execution mode. Do not change anything.” Then name the app you want to work on. A successful sign-in alone does not prove every tool is enabled.
If a tool is missing
Check the selected apps, capability grants, current workspace role, and the assistant’s tool settings. Refresh tool discovery after changing access. Client availability and organization policy can differ. Use the hosted endpoint; do not paste an SDK key or a server credential into a conversation as a substitute for sign-in.
