Capture only what the reader needs
Use a focused screenshot of the relevant product area. Exclude credentials, personal information, unrelated browser tabs, and customer data you do not intend to publish. Demo examples should be clearly labeled when their results are synthetic.
Add the image
Open the help article and place the cursor where the screenshot belongs.
Select Image in the formatting toolbar.
Fill in Image description with what the screenshot helps the reader understand.
Choose image and upload the file. PNG, JPG, and WebP images under 8 MB are suitable choices.
Wait for the upload and the article’s Saved state, then preview it.
Give the image context
Place the screenshot next to the instruction it illustrates. Follow it with a short explanation of what to notice or do next. The image description helps screen-reader users; it should communicate the purpose of the image rather than only saying “screenshot.”
Publish and verify
Publish the article or its latest changes, then open the public link. Confirm the image loads and remains readable at the article’s width. A saved draft image is not proof that the public version has been updated. If an upload fails, use the editor’s retry option and confirm the result before attempting another upload.
